Description
Wax portrait of Marie Louise Queen of France in the
19th century. Marie Louise, the second wife of Napoleon 1st.
was the great niece of Queen Marie Antoinette. The daughter of
Francis 2nd. emperor of the Holy Roman empire. Her upbringing was
marked by a hatred of revolutionary of France and then of Napoleon as
Austria was repeatedly humiliated by defeat and stripped of its
territories. Size: Frame 8 1/4 in by 7 1/4in. Some writing on the
back which I can’t make out. The frame looks original and I would
date the wax portrait some where around mid 19th century.
