568. 19th century large English tole tray showing a tropical scene, palm trees, sailing ship, the British Lion and a women holding a shield and banner with the word “Reform”. This design could be in support of the 1833 Abolition that abolished slavery in the colonies. Alternatively, it may have expressed support for the 1832 Reform Act that served to triple the number of voters. 29in by 21in. (73cm by 53cm).
