A 17th century carving depicting a Bishop overlooking Christ on the cross and a dove in flight plus a gold sunburst in the background.I feel it is German or eastern European.
Some touch up of the bishop and possibly elsewhere, less than 10%, the dove is loose. Size: H.38in..
Please note: it is rare to find a carving for its age that every thing is in tack, arms ,legs etc.
The carving makes an outstanding piece of art that would look good anywhere in a home etc.
